Jamie has yet to reveal what his recovery means for the future of his film Back In Action, which marks his friend Cameron Diaz’s return to Hollywood after years of retirement
Jamie’s health scare came a few weeks after returning to the set of crisis thriller Back in Action. He reportedly suffered a “breakdown,” which allegedly resulted in his 50-year-old co-star Cameron wanting to quit acting. The couple were photographed days later returning to filming.
The status of the film is currently unclear. However, it is understood that while most of the filming has been completed, post-production has yet to go through.
In June, a close friend of Cameron’s admitted to that even the actress “wasn’t sure” what was going on with the project, adding that the starlet wasn’t “very proud of it” because of all of it incidents. Drama that unfolded leading up to Jamie’s hospitalization.
“Cameron hasn’t spoken to Jamie at all and doesn’t know anything other than what she hears,” the insider revealed.
“Cameron has not signed on for another film and is not currently accepting new scripts,” the pal revealed. “Honestly, she’s not sure what’s going on with Back In Action and isn’t very proud of it considering there was so much drama before Jamie went to the hospital.”
According to her friend, the actress was ready to quit acting for a second time when problems arose behind the scenes of Back In Action. The ongoing issues reportedly led to Cameron and Jamie having a heated argument on set.
Their differences were reportedly never settled prior to Jamie’s hospitalization and the friend said Cameron suffers from a great deal of “guilt” that she and her pal never “made it up”.
“Cameron now feels a tremendous amount of guilt over their arguments as she was unable to make amends,” the insider shared.
Although Back In Action has wrapped filming, the source added that there are “major setbacks in post-production” on the Netflix-funded film, noting that even Cameron isn’t sure what’s going to happen with the project.
