The boy was only 10 years old, confirmed the Sûreté du Québec. Despite numerous efforts by the medical team, he passed away in the past few days.

The violent collision occurred on July 2 at around 10:45 a.m. on the 20 motorway near the municipality of Saint-Zotique.

In a traffic jam caused by an initial accident a few hours earlier, the driver of an articulated lorry crashed into a vehicle at full speed.

Result: A 49-year-old man, a 44-year-old woman and three small children were seriously injured.

A 13-year-old girl died in the hours after the incident.

The Surete du Québec (SQ) continues to investigate the case.

“Investigative measures are continuing, particularly with regard to analyzes and inspections,” said Stéphane Tremblay, spokesman for the provincial police.

This sad event would have happened when the Montreal family had to enjoy the Saint-Zotique beach.

“There were three families who went there,” says Sochea Meas, who met the victims at a party the day before the tragedy. Unfortunately it ended badly.”

Disturbing video

Video obtained by Le Journal had confirmed the severity of the impact and suggests the heavyweight never stopped for the 59-year-old driver.

A few tens of meters from the vehicles, which are practically idle, we see a truck driving at high speed compared to the others, colliding head-on with a car.

A sister and a brother died and another member of the siblings and their parents were injured in the accident, which occurred in early July on the 20 motorway in Saint-Zotique.

The sport utility vehicle (SUV) in which the victims were seated, seen in the left rearview mirror of a slow-moving trailer, became stuck after the collision between two heavy-duty vehicles.
