The Vertdure Group expands and launches 24 new turf hydro seeding franchises, a more economical option than traditional sod laying.
Hydroseeding has long been used to treat large areas, for example along highways. A mixture of seed, mulch, water and fertilizer is sprayed onto the soil under pressure.

After three years of research, the Vertdure Group has developed a process with adapted equipment and a recipe that suits the Quebec climate. The company is developing a way to get things done that are more accessible to individuals at half the price of peat.
“We ran several tests to get to the right product. “We have developed a recipe that is unique to us with our exclusive products,” said Benoit Lamoureux, Vice President Business Development at Groupe Vertdure.
The Company’s goal is to create 24 new Hydro Seeding Vertdure franchises in Quebec. The allocation process is underway and the entire network is expected to be operational next year.
“There are many current franchisees who want to be involved in the project, but we are also looking for other partners, such as landscapers or owners and operators, who are motivated and committed,” said Mr Lamoureux.
Existing franchisees have viewing rights until August 1st and the response is already “very positive”.

“I also have a lot of inquiries from entrepreneurs. I already have a nice list of people who are really interested in franchises. The enthusiasm is really good,” he added.
“With the machine, depending on the area, and the franchise fee, it’s going to be about $150,000. We have a big machine that can handle it. We have marketing support and IT support. Accounting is centralized. We have a financing, telemarketing and customer service department. The person who comes on board with us has a background of 35 years of industry experience.
Four regions are already offering the service this year, including Quebec, Delson, Sherbrooke and Repentigny.

“The first step is to secure Quebec before pushing the division elsewhere.”
As for the Vertdure business, which has already reached a level of maturity, managers are showing no interest in expanding it further in the Ontario market. The company already has a presence in the Ottawa region.
