“I’m really desperate,” said the family’s mother, Geneviève Lachance, in an interview with TVA Nouvelles.

After weeks of searching, Ms Lachance has still not found accommodation for herself, her spouse and their two children.

“Yesterday I cried in desperation. “Then it’s hard for me to know that my kids won’t have a place to go,” she says.

By Sunday, the family will have used up all of their savings.

An acquaintance offered to put them up in a rustic cabin in Mont-Laurier. However, this situation is temporary and Geneviève Lachance would rather not uproot her children who live in Terrebonne.

“We searched for two months and each time we were denied due to loan requests. Because of COVID, we had a lot of difficulties,” says the mother of the family.

Geneviève Lachance is still hoping to finally find a tenant willing to accommodate her family and their two dogs.
