The marriage between Maira Cardi and actor Arthur Aguiar has been annulled by the São Paulo judge. According to the verdict last Tuesday (11), the influencer was already married to someone else when she made her marriage to the former BBB official in 2017.
For the judge in that case, Maíra “acted in bad faith because she was married and knowingly refrained from doing so. It is an undisputed fact in the case that the defendant remarried while she was married”.
According to g1, the application for annulment was made by the public prosecutor in early 2022. “It is true that Maíra Cardi, when remarrying in Brazil, ignored the marriage contracted abroad,” the prosecutor said.
Maíra married a man in the US state of Florida in 2014 “whose validity was recognized in the national legal system,” according to the decision.
Maíra disagreed, claiming that she was unaware of the validity of her previous marriage abroad “due to the lack of registration in the country” and that the divorce between her and her exhusband was only at the MP’s suggestion.
In December 2017, after five months of dating, Maíra surprised Arthur with a wedding ceremony at her home. It was then that the actor became a meme as he was confused by his lover’s plot. The ceremony was reserved for family and a few friends.
In 2020, the couple split and Maíra released a video detailing her relationship with her exhusband Arthur Aguiar, explaining that she believes she was betrayed and manipulated by the singer who was supporting her. The influencer claimed she was scammed 17 times. In the same year they were reconciled. The actor became evangelical and Maira said she is on a “spiritual journey” with him.
In April 2021, after the actor won Big Brother Brasil 22, the couple split. The two have a daughter, Sophia.
