Good books stick to you, settle down, mature and suddenly reappear years later with their power. You don’t know when, but it will happen. Walter Bozzarelli On July 7th he took part in the San Fermin festival in the city of Navarre, made famous by Hemingway’s novel and attended every year from July 6th to 15th by thousands of people who, together with the bulls, feel the adrenaline of the race want to breathe in the famous encierro, the race side by side with the bull through the medieval streets of Pamplona: 850 meters, the finish of which is the bullring.
“Driven by those readings and having reached the age of 60,” explains Bozzarelli, “there wasn’t much time left to participate in the running of the bulls, an experience I had always dreamed of.” It took two and a half days to reach Pamplona arrived by motorbike via domestic and state roads, crossing the provinces of Asti, Cuneo and Colle dell’Agnello to cross the border and once over the Alps, Provence and the south of France , then Carcassonne, Pau, around the Basque Country and to reach Pamplona. It’s a matter of skill to escape the Encierro unscathed, but luck can be helpful. “Today a lot more people are involved, you have to be a bit lucky: when you run in front of the bull, you have to look at the animal, but also at the men who are standing in front of you.” If you don’t do that, there is danger that you will stumble and be run over by a whole herd.”
