Boxer Devin Haney, holder of four world lightweight titles, is in trouble.
The 24-year-old American was arrested in Los Angeles on Thursday morning in possession of a semi-automatic firearm. The TMZ website has learned that police found the object in the pugilist’s vehicle after they pulled him over for an erratic lane change.

Haney wasn’t driving. The gun was found under the driver’s seat. Nobody in the car wanted to identify its owner. This led to the athlete’s arrest as the vehicle belonged to him. He was accused of hiding a gun and jailed. Haney was released hours later after posting $35,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court in August.
The Californian has emerged as one of the stars of the boxing world of late, notching up victories over Vasiliy Lamachenko, George Kambosos Jr., Joseph Diaz Jr. and Yuriorkis Gamboa. Haney has an impressive record of 30-0-0 and was eliminated. against 15 of his rivals.
