Novak Djokovic storms into the lead in the Wimbledon semi-final against Italy’s Jannik Sinner by two sets and is fighting for a place in Sunday’s final

Serbian tennis superstar Novak Djokovic has a two-set lead in his Wimbledon semi-final duel with top Italian player Jannik Sinner.

The seven-time champion warmed up for the Wimbledon semifinals on Friday by playing under the No.

Early on, Novak made his way to another SW19 final after winning the first set 6-3. Sinner certainly had break point chances in Djokovic’s two service games, but was unable to take advantage of them and fell behind in the match.

The match was not without controversy – Sinner was penalized in the second set by British referee Richard Haigh.

He said that Djokovic’s roar after his shot came too late and could have put off his opponent.

Djokovic stormed over and asked: “What are you doing?” before refocusing and continuing to dominate – taking the next three points to win the game.

Sinner still has the crowd on his side and, as was undoubtedly shown, is ready to keep it and every time he wins back a point it erupts.

While he may be behind on the pitch against the defending champion, Sinner still has a few things to complain about.

The Italian polygot – who has his own logo – is a top 10 tennis player, was a former ski champion as a junior, is a successful Gucci model and even has his own dedicated Carota Boys fan club.

There is one thing he still has to do, who at the age of 21 is still in the infancy of his career: find his way to the Grand Slam final. Today he has exactly that chance – but against the best player of all time in men’s football: Novak Djokovic.

It’s difficult to portray Sinner as an unknown quantity when he’s the poster child of the ‘next generation’ alongside World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz.

Born in August 2001 in San Candido, a small town in northern Italy near the Austrian border, Sinner grew up in modest circumstances with his parents Hanspeter and Siglinde.

Sinner, who beat Roman Safiullin to reach the last four, left home at 13 to truly find success in tennis.
