The Témiscouata Valley Golf Club in Bas-Saint-Laurent had to close its doors on Saturday because a large part of the grounds and paths were completely flooded.

The green areas were almost completely covered with water; practically only the flag could be seen. Many roads were also badly damaged.

There was no indication that such a disaster would happen as some golfers took to social media to mention that it hadn’t when they finished their course around 7pm the previous day.
“We had an extraordinary sunset and a few hours later there was a deluge,” points out the director of the golf club, Alain Denis.

The latter also points out that this is an exceptional situation, since he has never seen such events happen in such large numbers and in such a short time.
“It’s unprecedented for me and I’ve been playing here for more than 30 years,” says Alain Denis.
“It’s an extraordinary year. “Since the start of the season, we’ve almost closed four weekends due to the weather,” he added.
At the moment those responsible are still in the dark about a possible reopening on Sunday, but in this case the carts would be banned on site.
