‘Barbie’ Director Says She Had Doubts About Making The Movie: ‘I Thought Nobody Would Let It Be’

The fantasy world can be beautiful and wonderful. Until the reality speaks louder and it turns out that all is not rosy! This happened to the most famous doll in the world! Barbie experiences a real adventure in the cinema in flesh and blood!

The most famous doll in the world, created 64 years ago, comes to theaters with everything you expect. Big screen Barbie lives in a dollhouse with no walls and magically transports herself everywhere. And there is no shortage of scenarios that simulate reality in a rosy world.

Fantástico spoke to the film’s director, Greta Gerwig, and actress Margot Robbie, who brought the puppet to life. See the video report above for details.

Gerwig says he even had doubts that the film would ever be made.

“We thought nobody would do this film. He’s very strange, very big, very crazy,” he says.

In the doll world, there are several Kens and several Barbies, but the main character is played by Margot Robbie, who is also the film’s producer.

“Everyone in every country knows Barbie, which means a lot of people have memories, good or bad,” says the actress.

A real adventure

In the story, the doll is asked to leave her enchanted world to experience real life. So Barbie and Ken naively walk among people and discover that things are different here.

“The whole thing was very surreal. It was like they were all my dolls and I put each one in one place. really play. When I saw Margot today, I thought, ‘You’re my Barbie doll,'” reveals the director.

Child psychology states that children use toys and games to resolve conflict and anxiety. That’s exactly what Greta and Margot did in this film.

At 33, Margot can’t remember if she had a Barbie, but her sister said she had one but would not let the actress touch her. “It’s all to get revenge on my sister. I hope it works out,” he jokes.

Cast members wore the film’s tshirt at opening events around the world. In virtually all of them, Margot wore a classic doll outfit to parade the red carpet.
