Elizabeth II has given the green light to William and Kate, both 41, to focus on family instead of royal duties. King Charles also agreed to the permit, a source close to the couple told People magazine.
This is how the couple managed to ensure that the princes had a different upbringing than other children of the British royal family. They conveyed a “sense of normality” to Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.
“Royal families across generations haven’t had the chance to lay those foundations, but they have. Coming from a different background, Kate appreciates the importance of family time. She didn’t grow up in an aristocratic environment where you see kids every day for a short time,” the source said.
William and Kate introduced the custom of taking their children to school, in addition to the fact that at least one of them was present at home when the children arrived. “These children seem very content with life. A big part of that is the stabilizing normalcy that Kate brings, and that’s how she grew up. William absolutely loves it,” the source said.
Kate expressed another sense of normalcy in a 2020 interview with the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast.. She also said she’s happiest when she’s in the country with her family, where everyone is “dirty,” which William likes a lot.
