While Activision has yet to officially unveil the next installment in the Call of Duty saga, it has been the victim of major new leaks.
What to expect ?
As is often the case with Activision’s flagship franchise, key details were recently shared by insiders across the internet. According to Twitter user @BobNetworkUK, who has already been known to have dug up a lot of information about the series in the past, there would be several changes to the programme. Specifically, it’s the return of the classic minimap, where players appear in the form of red dots when using a weapon.
Another expected and clearly documented return from Sledgehammer Games is that of the “Ninja” perk. Logically, this allows the equipped player to move very quietly. Likewise, the “War” mode should be back, which has already met with many requests from fans. In this mode, one team has to escort a tank through a map while the other team tries to stop it by setting up different defensive positions.
Obviously, many elements and aspects of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will reappear in this episode. As a reminder, this title was once intended as a simple DLC of the second opus, so we have to expect a lot of similarities in addition to the classic maps already mentioned by our colleagues at Insider Gaming. Anyhow, we can’t wait to enjoy Activision’s official presentation of the game!
Regarding the news of the Call of Duty license, we would like to remind you that Microsoft and PlayStation have reached common ground for the acquisition of Activision-Blizzard by the Redmond company. The deal signed by the two parties sees that all the games of the saga that are to come over the next decade will be released on both Xbox consoles and Sony devices, as agreed with Nintendo a few years ago.
