After losing the first half of his club Al Nassr’s pre-season game 5-0 to Celta Vigo in his native Portugal, Ronaldo spoke to the media arguing that the Saudi Pro League is better than the MLS and that he has no intention of doing so play in the United States or return to Europe.

“The Saudi league is better than MLS,” he claimed when asked to comment on Lionel Messi’s decision to move to North America.

“I paved the way to Saudi Arabia and now all the players are coming here.”

He says this because several key players have taken action in recent weeks, including Karim Benzema, Marcelo Brozovic, N’Golo Kanté and Roberto Firmino.

“Within a year, more and more players will come to Saudi Arabia. Within a year, this league will overtake the Turkish and Dutch leagues,” Ronaldo believes.

here forever

Ronaldo joined Al Nassr from Manchester United last January following a bitter divorce.

He is therefore starting his first full season in Saudi Arabia and maintains that he will not return to the other side of the Mediterranean as he believes the level of play in Europe has dropped in recent years.

“I am 100% sure that I will not return to a European club. I’m 38 years old and European football has lost a lot of quality. The only circuit that is still relevant and developing well is the Premier League. She’s way ahead of the others,” believes Ronaldo, who once experienced Real Madrid’s heyday.
