Overwhelming heat, torrential rain and a vigil of violent thunderstorms: Environment Canada is again issuing warnings for certain regions of Quebec.

In the afternoon and evening, weather conditions favor the formation of thunderstorms, which can lead to strong gusts, hail and torrential rain.
The severe thunderstorm warning is focused on areas south of the St. Lawrence River.
Extreme weather this afternoon moved from the United States-Canada border towards the Richelieu Valley, Montérégie, Bas-Saint-Laurent, Beauce, Estrie, Montmagny and Drummondville-Bois-Francs.
At 2:09 p.m., Environment Canada issued an impending severe thunderstorm warning for the Hemmingford area.
This line of thunderstorms should gradually move towards the east of the province.
As a result, Environment Canada issued multiple severe thunderstorm warnings at 12:40 p.m. for Estrie, Beauce, Kamouraska-Rivière-du-Loup and Trois-Pistoles, Rimouski, Saguenay, Richelieu-Saint-Hyacinthe Valley and Vaudreuil-Soulanges-Huntingdon .
Several smog warnings are also in effect, including in the south, in the center of the province and in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.
Today’s cloudy skies are due to the wildfires in British Columbia and not those in northern Quebec.
