Jamie Lee Curtis celebrates her ‘movie grandmother’ and congratulates Freaky Friday co-star Lindsay Lohan on the birth of her first child
Jamie Lee Curtis celebrated another big life milestone: she became a “movie grandmother” when she congratulated former co-star Lindsay Lohan on the birth of their son.
On Monday, the Oscar-winning actress, 64, posted sweet snaps of herself with Lohan, 37, who gave birth to their first child – son Luai – with husband Bader Shammas.
“MAGIC MONDAY! My film daughter just made me a film grandmother. Blessings to Lindsay and Bader on the birth of Luai! “@Lindsaylohan,” Curtis exclaimed in the caption of her Instagram post.
The photo Curtis shared was a flashback of her and Lohan wrapping their arms around each other and also included a small inset image of a still from the movie Freaky Friday.
On Monday. A Lohan representative confirmed that Lohan and Shammas have welcomed their first child. Lohan announced her pregnancy on her Instagram account in March.

“The family is happily in love [with the newborn]”Lohan’s rep said in a statement.
The name “Luai” means “shield” or “protector” in Arabic.
Although Luai’s exact date of birth has not yet been released, the actress’ representative clarified that the baby was born in Dubai, where the couple lives.
The announcement represents a rare glimpse into Lohan’s personal life, as she rarely posts or comments publicly on social media about her and her husband’s relationship, which began in 2020.
Most notably, when media reported in July 2022 that Lohan and Shammas had married, Lohan confirmed that this milestone came months later when she appeared on The Tonight Show in November of that year. The 38-year-old even stated that the wedding took place in April 2022.
Lohan and Curtis developed a close bond while starring in the 2003 film Freaky Friday, which became an instant hit.
In the film, Curtis and Lohan play mother and daughter, respectively, whose bodies are exchanged for a mysterious and magical Chinese fortune cookie.
In November 2022, Curtis announced that she and Lohan were in talks with Disney, the film’s producer, to direct a sequel to Freaky Friday.
A few months later, in May 2023, Disney announced that a sequel to Freaky Friday was in the works, and a month later, Curtis told a fan at Disneyland that production would begin sometime in 2024.
