Taylor Swift becomes the artist with the most number 1 albums

American mega-pop star Taylor Swift became the number one-selling artist on Monday with her latest work, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), dethroning Barbra Streisand.

According to the organization’s website, the 33-year-old singer has racked up a total of 12 albums to the top of the Billboard reference chart.

She is also, according to Billboard, “the first woman — and the first living solo artist” to have eleven albums in the Top 200 simultaneously since August 1963.

The absolute record belongs to Prince (19 albums), in the ranking of May 14, 2016, shortly after his death (April 21, 2016).

Taylor Swift achieves this feat with a re-recorded version of her third album, Speak Now, released in 2010.

Since 2019, the artist has struggled following the takeover of his former record label Big Machine by music industry magnate Scooter. Brown actually took to the public stage to reclaim ownership of the recordings of his first six albums.

She simply decided to re-record new versions: After “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” and “Red (Taylor’s Version)”, “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” is the third in a six-part series. The original version is still at number 67 on the Billboard 200.

Taylor Swift, a megastar in the United States and around the world, is used to vinyl: in October 2022, after the release of her album “Midnights”, she managed to place all her songs in the top 10 spots of the Billboard Hot 100.
