Actress Sofía Vergara will not suffer any financial harm from the end of her marriage to actor Joe Manganiello. British newspaper The Daly Mail reports that the former Modern Family star and her now exhusband have signed a strict prenuptial agreement to keep their fates separate.
Vergara has an estimated net worth of US$180 million (R$866 million), while Manganiello has a net worth of around US$40 million (R$192 million).

The 51yearold Colombian actress was the highestpaid female television artist in the world for most of her 11 seasons on Modern Family. During the most successful period of production, she was paid $500,000 per episode. In 2020, she earned an estimated total salary of US$43 million (R$206 million). As a judge on the talent show America’s Got Talent, she earns $70,000 per episode, which equates to $10 million per season.
In 2015, in an interview with broadcaster Howard Stern shortly after their marriage, she joked about the prenuptial agreement she signed with her husband: “He [Maganiello] said: “Do what you want, I’ll sign what you want.”
Vergara starred in such films as Amante a Domicilio (2013), Beautiful and Persecuted (2015) and The Chemistry of Love (2019). Shown between 2009 and 2020, Modern Family is the pinnacle of the actress’ career, which earned her four Emmy nominations. Manganiello has starred in the SpiderMan, Magic Mike, and Batman franchises.

The end of the marriage was confirmed on July 17 by a statement signed by the two celebrities: “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people who love and care deeply for each other, we kindly ask that you respect our privacy as we navigate this new phase in our lives.”
The British newspapers Chron and The Sun reported on the reasons for the end of the marriage. Anonymous sources linked to the two artists reported that the actors and actress’ different lifestyles were key to ending their romance, with tensions surrounding constant clubbing and drinking.
Both sources point out that Manganiello has been sober for 21 years and therefore prefers to avoid parties and celebrations. Vergara, on the other hand, insists that the house is always full, at informal parties and ballads in the company of friends.

“Apparently, Sofia’s nondrinking habit had an impact on their marriage,” the source said. “He [Manganiello] was brought to attention when the two met and after the wedding. He never thought he could change her, but he also didn’t think it would affect their marriage in the end.
The Sun’s contact said: “Sofía and Joe were happy together and lasted longer than some close friends believed. An important fact concerns the different relationships of both in terms of parties and drinks. Sofía enjoys cocktails and drinks with friends.”
The source said that Vergara’s habit of having friends over and throwing parties has become “incredibly distressing” for Manganiello in recent years.

The personal advisors of the now excouple have not yet publicly commented on the reports on the contacts of the two British publications.
One of the first public statements from celebrities about the breakup came from actress Julie Bowen, a personal friend of Vergara and the artist’s costar on Modern Family. Taking to the comments section of a friend’s recent post with photos from her recent visit to Italy, she wrote, “This is what a single woman on fire looks like!!!”.
