Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Mady Gosselin has taken a stand against her younger brother Collin and accused him of “physical violence” in a shocking online statement after he accused their mother Kate of “abuse” while widening the rift between him and her had disclosed his siblings.
Mady, 22, revealed on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday that she received a lot of “hate messages” after her siblings appeared in VICE TV’s new documentary Dark Side of the 2000’s — revealed exclusively by DailyMail.com.
Mady began writing, “I never wanted to have to talk about this to give my brother a chance to live privately after our family’s TV show ended, but I’ve been overwhelmed by hate mail over the past few days,” and I did feel like I need to clarify the issue.
“I do not owe my allegiance to any person who has physically threatened me or any member of my immediate family (some incidents as recently as last year).”
She continued, “Furthermore, I will never allow anyone in my life to behave hatefully and even violently towards others because of their race identity, gender identity or religious beliefs.”
Speaking up: Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Mady Gosselin has spoken out against her younger brother Collin in a shocking online TV statement: Collin, 19, speaks in new documentary ‘Dark Side of the 2000’s Back in the Day’ from VICE TV on his family : The Gosselin children rose to fame with their reality TV show starring mom Kate and dad Jon
“Kindness, tolerance, love and acceptance are core values in my life and I refuse to compromise them for ANYONE, not even my brother Collin, who unfortunately has made his opinions very clear in private.”
“For me, once I’ve reached the point of physical violence and hate speech, there’s no further conversation about rebuilding relationships with anyone in my life.”
“I can’t go on about why Collin did these things, I just witnessed them,” she claimed.
“I’ve had hundreds of people over the past few days texting my private accounts with the most hurtful words imaginable without knowing the full truth of what we’ve been through.”
“I ask for peace and privacy (and no more hate mail) going forward,” Mady added.
The statement came after Collin punched her mother Kate in the VICE TV documentaries.
The teen claimed that his mother, a reality star, “created a social barrier between him and his siblings.”
Collin rose to fame with his seven siblings – twins Mady and Cara, now 22, and sextuplets – on reality TV show Jon & Kate Plus 8 when they were very young – but they’re a long way from that these days happy family who was once portrayed on TLC’s popular show.
Shocking statement: Mady claimed that her younger brother “physically threatened” her. Close bond: Mady was pictured with her mother Kate Gosselin in 2019. Ongoing feud: Mady is currently not in a relationship with her father Jon. Bombshell statement: Mady also claimed that Collin “expressed his opinion very clearly in private”
“Well, my mother is very controlling. “She’s single-minded, she knows what she wants and she gets what she wants,” he claimed in The Dark Side of the 2000s.
“I think my mother created a social barrier between us. “She told them the story in one way, and of course I see the story in a different way,” Collin added.
After Jon and Kate’s acrimonious split in 2009, the eight children continued to live with their mother — until Collin was sent to the Fairmont Behavioral Health Institute in Philadelphia in 2016.
His father Jon previously claimed that while Collin was “locked up” for three years, he was only visited by his callous mother three times – less than two hours in all – and refused to tell him where her son was.
Collin was later transferred to another facility in Pittsburgh, at which point Jon began a $1 million legal battle to get custody. He also received custody of Collins’ sister Hannah.
Unfortunately, the dispute over Collins’ custody battle led to a permanent rift between the Gosselin siblings.
Hannah, also 19, also spoke out in the docuseries, confirming her brothers and sisters knew what happened to Collin.
“We didn’t speak to Collin for years while he was at the facility, we didn’t even know where he was,” she explained.
Famous family: Former couple Kate and Jon were pictured with their eight children in the 2000s. Happy times: Jon was pictured with his daughter Hannah and son Collin last month
“It’s like a really dark part of our past.” They don’t talk to Collin. “Eventually everyone found out what happened to him, but now they’ve decided to just not have a relationship with him.”
Jon, 46, is also estranged from six of his children and doesn’t know why they don’t speak to him anymore.
“I don’t have access to the kids I’m estranged from.” “I have no idea why they stopped coming, I have no answers, like none, it’s the worst,” Jon told VICE TV.
“I’d rather they said, ‘You’re an asshole, I hate you, you did that to mom…’ I don’t have anything, I don’t have a degree.”
He also revealed that he spent $1 million on his custody battle for Collin, who currently lives with him.
But when Jon was awarded custody and Collin moved in with him, the truth was revealed.
“It was a big deal for me because I couldn’t understand why my mom would do that to one of our siblings, her own child,” Hannah said.
The teen has yet to comment on her older sister’s statement, instead posting two photos to Instagram of herself modeling a pair of tight black cycling shorts.
With her long hair braided to one side and a pair of sunglasses clutched, Hannah grinned for the camera and simply captioned the post “Texas girl” next to the cactus emoji.
Joint trio: The father of eight received sole custody of Collin and Hannah when they were children. Side hustle: After leaving the world of reality TV, Collin returned to his job in the IT industry, but also DJs
Meanwhile, her dad Jon used his Instagram Stories to promote an upcoming DJ gig on July 28 in Kissimmee, Fla.
After leaving the world of reality TV, the father of eight returned to his job in the IT industry, while also working as a DJ on the side.
Jon told DailyMail TV back in 2019 that he might never forgive Kate for sending his son away.
“Collin has never been diagnosed with any known medical condition other than ADHD, which is very common, there is nothing wrong with him,” explained Jon.
“But Kate sent him away, she didn’t get along with him.” He was alone for three and a half years, without parents, all locked up. It was inhuman.’
