Quebec’s Édouard Julien put in another strong performance on Friday night, scoring twice in a stunning 9-4 win for the Minnesota Twins over the Chicago White Sox at Target Field in Minneapolis.
Julien crossed the plate twice during the duel. On his first bat, the second baseman hit a single into left field. He then went to second base after a mistake by White Sox second baseman Elvis Andrus. The Old Capital scorer netted a cannon shot from teammate Alex Kirilloff in the first inning.

The 24-year-old is on fire these days. He scored in his ninth straight game and has stretched his arms three times in that streak. He has nine homers in 50 duels this season.
The Auburn University graduate also has the best base-to-base attendance average of any major league baseball batter with at least 30 plate appearances in July. His average this month is .550.
The Twins’ designated batsman, Byron Buxton, also stood out that night. Buxton finished the game with two hits, including a home run. He scored an impressive four points in the duel.
Rocco Baldelli’s side now have a 51-48 record. Minnesota leads the American League Central by a two-game lead over the Cleveland Guardians.
Juan Soto shines in Detroit
San Diego Padres outfielder Juan Soto went home with a performance of two home runs in his team’s 5-4 win over the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park on Friday night.
It was the Dominican’s 14th game with at least two long balls in his career. The 24-year-old is the fifth player in the National League to achieve this feat before the age of 25. Other players who have achieved this feat include Eddie Mathews, Mel Ott, Bob Horner, Willie Mays and Bryce Harper.
Soto has stretched his arms 19 times in 98 games this season.
