\”L’intera crisi alimentare globale è stata causata dall’aggressione russa all’Ucraina.

In Odessa, the Transfiguration Cathedral was hit

The Russian attack on Odessa, which claimed at least one death last night, did not spare the Transfiguration Cathedral either, the city council announced. Images of the remains of the historic church are already circulating on the network, showing one side of the facade completely destroyed and extensive damage to the interior of the cathedral. Completed in 1808, the cathedral was demolished by Soviet authorities in 1936 and rebuilt between 1999 and 2003.

Ukraine: Russian intelligence: call for espionage by MI6? we forgive them’

British foreign intelligence leaders can be forgiven for asking Russian spies to share secrets and cooperate with MI6. Russia’s External Intelligence Service (SVR) said: “The current head of MI6, Richard Moore, has publicly called on Russians to work for British intelligence and promised protection to traitors. He believes that this will end the conflict in Ukraine,” the SVR said in a press release, quoted by the Tass news agency. Russia’s foreign intelligence service went on to say: “Anyone with a little knowledge of the subject may recall that the Anglo-Saxons have a longstanding tradition of weeding out traitors and weary deserters.”

For the time being, the US does not intend to send long-range missiles to Kiev

The United States, at least for now, has no intention of supplying long-range missiles to Ukraine, despite pressure from Congress and appeals from Kiev. The Washington Post reports, citing government sources clarifying the American position. Given Kiev’s slow counter-offensive against Russian forces, and Joe Biden’s seeming openness on the matter, many had recently begun to assume Washington was changing tack.

Zelenskyy: “NATO-Ukraine Council meeting on the wheat agreement requested”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has asked NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to immediately convene the Ukraine-NATO Council to “discuss specifically Russia’s aggressive actions in the Black Sea” after Russia halted the wheat deal. In the evening speech, quoted by Ukrainska Pravda, Zelenskyy stressed that “any destabilization in this region and the disruption of our export routes will mean problems with consequences for everyone in the world”.

The Ukrainian President then announced that he had discussed “the steps to unblock and ensure the sustainable functioning of the grain corridor” with Stoltenberg and that the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council (a body established at the Vilnius summit ten days ago, ed.) would take place in the next few days.

Baltic countries: “Moscow is responsible for the global food crisis”

“The entire global food crisis was caused by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. Today, Russian agribusiness and pro-Kremlin oligarchs are benefiting enormously from carefully planned increases in wheat prices at the expense of poor people in different parts of the world. All of this in the hope of being able to effectively support Putin’s unmotivated neocolonial war against Ukraine.” This was stated during a speech read by Estonian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Rein Tammsaar on behalf of all three Baltic states during a session of the UN Security Council yesterday. Tammsaar emphasized that helping Ukraine to find new ways of exporting grain is a way to actively support the country in resisting the Russian invasion. “In addition to the EU solidarity routes,” the Estonian diplomat reminded, “the infrastructure of the Baltic States can serve as an additional viable and reliable route for the export and transit of Ukrainian products, including grain. Five seaports of the Baltic States have a total annual capacity of 25 million tons of grain and are ready to cooperate.”

Cluster bombs in Ukraine, what they are and why a convention prohibits their use in warfare

The US, Russia and Ukraine are among the countries that have not signed the international convention that bans the use of these weapons, which can launch submunitions and turn vast areas into open minefields. Prime Minister Meloni reiterated “condemnation” of Russia’s aggression against Kiev, instead recalling that Rome adheres to treaties banning the “production, transfer and stockpiling” of cluster bombs.
