Available for iOS and Android, the Carte Vitale application offers a dematerialized alternative to the traditional physical card, while maintaining the same high level of security and functionality.
This application is specifically designed for those affiliated with Assurance Maladie, MSA or MGEN in the departments currently open for application including Alpes-Maritimes, Bas-Rhin, Loire-Atlantique, Puy-de-Dôme, Rhône, Saône et Loire, Sarthe and Seine-Maritime. Users must be at least 16 years old, have a valid Vitale card and have a smartphone with at least version 7.
The Carte Vitale application offers several functions. It allows users to identify themselves to equipped healthcare professionals, just as they would with their physical Vitale card. It also provides access to a detailed history of healthcare expenses incurred by healthcare professionals.
In addition, the application provides direct access to the personal data of the user and their beneficiaries, including social security number, the organization with which it is associated and additional information such as national health identity.
The Carte Vitale application was developed by GIE SESAM-Vitale, which has been entrusted with this task by the health insurance company on behalf of the Ministry of Solidarity and Health.
