Sofia Vergara is “living her best life” after feeling “suffocated” in her relationship with Joe Manganiello after the couple’s shock split after seven years of marriage.
The 51-year-old Modern Family star, who received a “cold” birthday party from the Magic Mike actor, 46, just days before his divorce was announced, has moved on after returning to Los Angeles after a lavish holiday in Italy.
A close friend of the now-single actress told Page Six that she is “living her best life” in an article published on Saturday. She spends time with her friends after being stifled in a relationship with a largely unsupportive partner.
The source further told the source, “Sofía was always there to look after Joe, even though his career was never what it was when they met.”

Back then, Joe paid tribute to the star by uploading a low-resolution snap of the former couple and adding the simple caption, “¡¡Feliz Cumpleaños Sofía!!!”
Social media users immediately responded to the comment, expressing speculation that all was not well in their marriage. One fan typed, “Oh no.” There’s trouble in paradise. I can feel it.’
Another dubbed the caption “cold,” and wrote, “Joe I hope you’re doing well, that was a very different (cold) happy birthday to your wife from the previous ones!”
Days later, on July 17, the former couple announced their split, issuing a joint statement to Page Six. “We made the difficult decision to divorce.”
“As two people who love and care for each other deeply, we politely ask for respect for our privacy at this new stage in our lives.”
Various sources close to the Hollywood stars told earlier this week that their “different attitudes” was one of the reasons the two were slowly breaking up.

The actress also previously dated Nick Loeb, to whom she became engaged in 2012, but later called off the engagement in 2014.
In 2013, she froze embryos from an IVF treatment and the couple went to court over ownership after their split. In 2021, a judge ruled on Sofia’s side, but now Loeb is suing the fertility clinic.
Joe previously dated Bridget Peters and was briefly engaged to Audra Marie from 2010 until their split in 2011.
