Four people miraculously escape after their car flies down an embankment and then lands on its roof in San Francisco – while the driver and passenger are seen flee the scene

  • In San Francisco, a car jumped a guardrail and fell down a flight of stairs before landing on its roof
  • The four occupants of the car all managed to escape relatively unharmed and fled before police arrived at the scene
  • The cause of the crash remains unknown and it is unclear if SF Police have launched an investigation into the incident

Stunning video captured the moment a car fell down an embankment and landed on its roof before the four people in the vehicle miraculously escaped alive.

A five-minute Nest Camera clip posted online by YouTube user Julia Brown shows the quiet San Francisco apartment complex bathed in late afternoon sun as the white sedan suddenly plummeted down the stairs on Sanchez Street.

The car rolled over as it hit the road, knocking down a tree and hitting a parked car as it landed on its roof.

The caption of the video read: “Amazing everyone seems to be walking away. Miraculously, no bystanders were hit.”

A passer-by immediately rushed to the car and pried open one of the doors to help people out of the overturned vehicle.

Other witnesses, including some who were in their cars and stopped to help, then ran to the overturned vehicle to see what they could do to help.

When the shocking accident happened, no one had walked on the stairs or directly under them.

The Good Samaritans managed to get the four passengers out of the car, none of whom appeared to be seriously injured.

None of them stayed at the scene when units from the San Francisco Fire Department arrived at the crash site moments later.

In the video, someone can be heard saying, “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry” and “I have to go.”

A second clip posted by Brown shows the car crashing through the guardrail on the road above the stairs.

The occupants of the car are seen leaving the scene of the accident, including a man with a skateboard and a woman who appears to be putting her shoes back on before running away.

Two occupants of the car can be seen fleeing the accident up the stairs, while more onlookers gather from all directions.
