Ravenna, July 23, 2023 – A theater packed Alighieri last night welcomed the appointment in honor of Raul Gardini, thirty years after his death. The free tickets sold out within a few hours in the past few days, so it was decided to also stream the event from the Palazzo dei Congressi in Largo Firenze. They sat in the front rows Raul Gardini’s children Eleonora, Ivan and Maria Speranza and grandchildren. And then many friends, spectators, even contemporary witnesses of that time.
His daughter Eleonora said in a broken voice: greeted the theater and the whole city. “On behalf of me and my brothers – he said – I thank the institutions and the Ravenna Festival for all this, for this tribute to our father.” Then she addressed the audience: “Thank you first of all to you and to the whole city for the affection and emotions that honor us and.” have touched us deeply for 30 years”. The focus of the evening was the screening of the docu-fiction “Raul Gardini”, which was broadcast on Rai at almost the same time.
Before the performance, to the applause of those present that filled the hall, the main actor took the stage, Fabrizio Bentivoglio, which answered some questions. “They first offered me the role of Raul Gardini ten years ago – said the actor – in a film that, as so often happens, never got made. Not being able to play him left a bitter taste in me. That’s why I agreed immediately.” The event was opened with a speech by City Councilor Fabio Sbaraglia. Photographer Paolo Roversi was among the crowds crowding the theater. In fact, telling the story of Raul Gardini and the Ferruzzi family means tracing a crucial and in many ways controversial period in the history of our country.
