According to official data, China’s foreign trade in agricultural products grew 6.4 percent year on year in the first half of this year.
During that period, the country’s total imports and exports of agricultural products amounted to $171.76 million, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said.
China’s agricultural exports rose 1.7 percent year-on-year to $47.71 billion.
Imports of such products reached $124.05 million, up 8.3 percent from the same period last year.
China’s trade deficit for agricultural products in the same period was $76.34 billion, up 12.9 percent year on year, the ministry said.
