According to the first available information, the toddler was playing on the side of the road when the vehicle hit him. He was seriously injured and taken to the hospital, where his death was pronounced. The driver of the vehicle was also hospitalized for nerve shock.
According to campsite owner Maxime Dupéré, the speed is unquestionable. “The lady drove very quietly, the speed was 0. The child was playing in a field and wanted to cross it when she was hit by the car. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time,” he mentioned when the daily newspaper visited the crime scene.
CLSC staff are currently on site for people in need of assistance. According to the findings, several other people had to be hospitalized for nerve shock.
“It’s a campsite, the weather was nice this morning, everyone was outside,” commented Maxime Dupéré. He adds that at least four or five people went to the hospital center after witnessing the scene.
It was not possible to enter the campsite, but at the end of the day investigators, accompanied by reconstructionists, were still at the scene of the accident to clarify the circumstances of the accident. “At first glance, there was no criminal element,” said the spokesman for the Sûreté du Québec.
