Drones over Moscow

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, drones had already been shot down over the Moscow area in early July. At the time, the Ministry of Defense blamed Ukraine for the drone strikes. Russia has been waging a war of aggression against neighboring Ukraine for 17 months.

There were also drone strikes in the capital Moscow in May. According to authorities, houses were also damaged and people were injured in an attack in late May. As a result, Russian President Vladimir Putin called for an improvement in his own air defense systems. Attacks have also been increasing in Russia for weeks – particularly in the immediate border region with Ukraine.
