Quebec’s Lance Stroll had a hard day’s work in qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix on Saturday as he will start 14the place for Sunday’s race.

The Aston Martin driver retired in the second quarter. However, the day before he had set the third fastest time in the first free practice session.
“It was frustrating that my first lap of Q2 was canceled due to the track restrictions at Turn 12. I was pushing hard and it was hard to tell where the line was because you couldn’t feel it,” he explained on his team’s website.
He also stressed that the new qualification format presents some difficulties but he feels ready to live with this new reality.
“The field is incredibly tight and the gaps between all teams are small, so tomorrow [en parlant de dimanche] We will try to make the best of every opportunity that comes our way,” he said.
Stroll finished 14th at the last Grand Prix held at Silverstone in the UK on July 9th.
His teammate Fernando Alonso clocked the eighth fastest time of the day.
