Real Housewives Of New York actress Jenna Lyons sets limits on what she can and can’t put on the air.
The 55-year-old fashion designer told her co-stars that she’s in a relationship during Sunday’s episode of the reboot of the popular Bravo series.
And that’s all she offered.
“Because I’ve had so much press, I’m very quiet about it, so I don’t share that,” Jenna told Jessel Taank, Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan and Erin Lichy over dinner in the Hamptons.
The former J. Crew boss – who suffers from a genetic disorder affecting her hair and teeth – is keeping her friend’s identity a secret.

“My life has brought me into the public eye for my job and other things I’ve done.” And that’s my choice. And someone doesn’t want to be there with me, then I have to respect that,” she said during a confessional.
And she meant it. Jenna didn’t even tell the ladies how she and her friend met and how long they had been together.
But the only thing her Real Housewives peers really wanted to know was if she was happy.
Jenna confirmed this, prompting Jessel to remark, “That’s the most important thing.”
However, Sai wasn’t impressed by Jenna’s desire to keep her personal life off-screen.
“I want to know what’s going on in their relationship,” said the influencer.
“She knows my husband, why can’t I know her friend?” We’re friends, that’s what friends do — we know each other’s spouses. I hope it eases off a bit.”
Jenna was married to Vincent Mazeau from 2002 to 2011 and realized towards the end of their marriage that she was a lesbian.

She was 40 at the time and still running J. Crew when she was asked to join a conference call with the company’s CEO, PR director and the New York Post.
The outlet said they had information that she was “meeting a woman” and wanted her to “confirm or deny” the relationship.
She had not told her mother, her family, or anyone at work about her sexuality and had only been with the woman in question for three weeks. Still, she felt she had no choice but to confirm the rumours.
“While it was devastating and probably one of the most difficult things I’ve ever experienced, I’m still incredibly grateful for how accommodating everyone in the office has been.” Everyone has been amazing. Not my mom, everyone else,” Jenna revealed in a confessional.
