A motorist is in a life-or-death hospital after being involved in a traffic accident involving a diesel tanker that spilled its contents after the crash in The Laurentians.
The collision happened around 2 p.m. on Route 117, La Conception, not far from Mont-Tremblant.
The driver of the car, an 80-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment with serious, life-threatening injuries.
The truck driver was also taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The collision resulted in a large leak and several hundred liters of diesel spilled onto the ground.
As a result, Route 117 at La Conception is completely closed to traffic in both directions indefinitely.

For people who would need to cross this portion of Route 117, a bypass can be taken in the area via Rang des Tulipes.
Urgence-Environnement specialists were sent to the site, in particular to try to assess the impact of the disaster on nature.
In addition, the emergency services carried out the preventive evacuation of several residential buildings within a radius of 300 meters around the accident site.
A collision investigation specialist from the Sûreté du Québec was due to be on site in the afternoon to try to clarify the cause and circumstances of the accident.
