Leny’s wake is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Another ceremony will follow from 2pm to 4pm at the Carmo Memorial in Caju. She too is cremated.

Doris and Leny were friends

Leny was successful when Doris was already an established radio singer. The two became friends and have reunited several times over the past few years.

They met again in 2017 when they were recording the songs for the carioca edition of the show 100 Years of Dalva Oliveira. Doris sang the samba “Zum zum” and Leny sang “Há um Deus”.

The artists reunited at the Rio Vinyl Fair Trophy in April 2019 when they were honored with the award. Leny was already using a wheelchair to get around at this point, but attended the award ceremony.
