Home and Away star Sophie Dillman “hated” wearing a bikini every day on the Australian soap and cried when she first saw herself in a swimsuit
Former Home and Away actress Sophie Dillman has revealed she hates wearing bikinis on set.
The 30-year-old soap star opened up about the difficulties she faced putting on the skimpy swimsuits in a column for Yahoo Lifestyle on Monday, saying she “hated” wearing bikinis every day.
Sophie reports that one of the questions she gets asked most about her time on Home and Away is how she filmed in a bikini every day.
Dillman, who played Ziggy Astoni on the long-running Aussie soap, described the working conditions on set as fairly easy, explaining that donning a swimsuit is just like any other form of costuming – but said it also had its challenges.
“I knew I wasn’t a size 36 and I knew that was going to be a talking point for the public,” she continued.

“On my first day getting out of the surf, fans, crew, paparazzi, fellow cast members and soon thousands of people watched me waddle around Palm Beach trying to look cool, but I was dying inside,” added she added.
While the crew advised her not to google her name to see authentic photos or read articles about herself, she said she couldn’t resist the temptation.
“I found these photos and cried for days,” she confessed.
In 2021, Dillman told Who magazine that she “doesn’t believe in dieting” and likes to eat in moderation.
“Life is too short not to enjoy it.” “If you want a cookie, just eat a cookie,” she said.

The actress explained that when gyms closed during lockdown, she started working out with fitness instructor Kate Ivey via her DediKate app.
“There are some great, high-intensity, 20-minute workouts that fit well with the lifestyle of a busy person.” I’ve also taken online boxing classes, walked my dog, and even taken up swimming in the ocean,” said she.
As for food, Sophie explained that she can’t eat a lot of gluten or dairy as it causes severe pain due to her endometriosis.
“I like to eat a rainbow of foods and things that make me feel good.” When I don’t eat enough, I get hungry and [my boyfriend] know to stay away! So I try to have some healthy snacks on hand to get through these crises.”
Sophie hired a team of specialists to help her manage her condition, including a gynaecologist, a physical therapist and a naturopath.

And they plan to stay on the other side of the world, with Sophie hoping to start a theater career in the UK.
