A sexual misconduct scandal erupted in the final season of Bravo’s Below Deck Down Under, resulting in two crew members being fired from the show.
In the series’ latest episode, boatswain Luke Jones has been fired after he climbed “without consent” into the bed of Margot Sisson, who was naked and asleep.
Second Stew Laura Bileskalne’s reaction to the incident also led to Captain Jason Chambers letting her go after she insisted Luke wasn’t to blame.
She was eventually fired for showing “little respect and empathy” towards Margot.
Luke’s inappropriate behavior came after the crew went out in Cairns, Australia.
Below Deck Down Under’s Luke Jones (left) has been fired for sexual misconduct after he climbed naked into Margot Sisson’s (right) bed “without consent”.
Producers had to step in after catching Luke in bed with Margot, who had passed out unconscious after a night of heavy drinking
At dinner, Margot explained that she was “really drunk” and chef Aesha Scott even told deckhand Culver Bradbury that she was keeping an eye out for her.
“I just want to supervise her a little,” Aesha explained.
Despite Margot’s drunken state, Luke repeatedly tried to flirt with her, asking her to “snuggle” with him while they sat in the back seat of a car together.
“No, let’s go,” she replied, before making it clear that she just wanted to “go to bed” by herself.
As Aesha took her back to her cabin, she assured Margot that she would not let “any drunkenness” tempt her into being “taken advantage of”.
“I just want to make sure you get to bed safely.” “I’ll get you some water,” she said to Margot.
Luke, lying naked under a towel, ran straight for Margot’s bunk
Producers burst into the cabin as Luke crawled into Margot’s bunk bed, which she was sleeping in
The producer asks Luke to come down and tries to get him off the bed
Later, just in his boxers, Luke walked into Margot’s room and asked her to go into the hot tub.
“I just saw Luke looking at you and I feel very protective,” Aesha said to Margot.
Margot replied, “I’m glad you’re here.” I don’t want to go to the jacuzzi, I want to go to bed. I just want water and bed, no, Luke.’
As the producers turned on the lights, an enraged Luke, completely naked, yelled at the producers, “Fuck off!”
Then he slammed the door, leaving himself and Margot alone in the cabin
One producer immediately asked Luke to open the door, shouting, ‘Open up!’ Open it!’
Coming back from the hot tub, Luke made a beeline for Margot’s cabin, where she was alone and sleeping.
After he was in her bed, the producers stepped in and told Luke to leave her alone.
“Can you go away for a second?” he told the cameramen.
“We can’t do that, she said no, she said no,” the producers told him.
When Aesha returned to the hut, she tells her friend that Luke was in her hut and ran out “naked”.
‘Oh dear God. “Ew, he was naked?” Margot replied, to which Aesha asked, “Did you consent to him being in here?”
“No, I was sleeping,” said Margot. “I didn’t invite that at all.”
Chief stewardess Aesha Scott was rushing to the scene when a naked Luke left the room
Aesha checked on Margot who was shocked to find Luke had been lying naked in her bed
Luke later locked himself in his own cabin and insisted he had done nothing wrong
Aesha then informed Captain Jason, who wanted to know if Sisson was “safe”.
“So is she safe? She’s safe, yes?’ said Captain Jason. “She is safe,” Aesha said.
Aesha tearfully claimed Luke tried to “take advantage of Margot’s drunkenness” while she was “completely unconscious” in bed.
Captain Jason then went to Luke’s room and ordered him to spend the night in a hotel.
The next morning, Jason gathered the remaining crew members and informed them that Luke would be fired.
An emotional Aesha briefed Captain Jason on the incident, claiming that Luke was trying to “take advantage of Margot’s drunkenness.”
Captain Jason fired Luke the next day. On the way out, Luke told Jason he was “sorry” and that he was “so disappointed” in himself for acting like this
He also lectured the crew on the importance of consent and boundaries, and emphasized the rules they must follow on board.
Jason then fired Luke, who simply replied, “I accept that.”
On the way out, he told Captain Jason that he was “sorry” and that he was “so disappointed” in himself for how he had acted.
Second Stew Laura Bileskalne’s reaction to the incident also led to Captain Jason letting her go after she insisted to Margot that Luke wasn’t at fault
Stewardess Laura spent the rest of the day sympathizing with Luke, explaining that he simply should have been given a “warning” and shouldn’t have been fired.
She even told Margot that the firing wasn’t “fair” and that he was just “joking” and “drunk,” before implying that Margot might be responsible for the incident.
As a result, Captain Jason eventually fired Laura as well and beat her up for not respecting boundaries.
