The latter announced this in a press release on Wednesday. Playmaker specializes in media, technology and sports betting.

Latendresse, Lapierre and General Manager Louis-Philippe Dorais will remain with the company.

“La Poche Bleue is an incredible sports content and consumer goods producer with a real affinity with Quebec fans. In addition, Maxim, Guillaume and Louis-Philippe are accomplished professionals with strong ties to the local community. Maxim and Guillaume are sports personalities who will continue to produce a fun and culturally relevant content offering. This is an important milestone in our North American expansion strategy and an exciting day for Playmaker as we continue to add great players to our team,” said Jordan Gnat, President of Plarmaker.

The transaction amount could reach up to $8.8 million if financial targets are met within the next 12 months. So far, the founders of La Poche Bleue have received a check for $2.25 million and shares in Playmaker.

Founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, La Poche Bleue quickly became one of the most popular podcasts for ice hockey fans in Quebec. Since then, the company has grown and has associated its image with several consumer products, including alcoholic beverages.
