Seann Walsh, Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe have had to respond to critics after the latest episode of the hit Parenting Hell podcast.
Last week, Rob and Josh spoke to the 37-year-old prankster about life as a parent after he welcomed daughter Wilder with girlfriend Grace Adderley in February.
During the chat, the trio spoke on webcam with Seann, who was wearing a dressing gown and eye mask, and read “F**K Off” while Grace walked around in the background ready to answer any questions he couldn’t answer.
Many listeners commented on an Instagram promotional post for the episode, claiming the promoted chat was “misogynistic gossip trap” and “incompetent performance” and pointing out that the episode was meant to be funny.
Alongside the parenting criticism, one follower recalled the 2018 scandal in which he was caught kissing his Strictly co-star Katya Jones despite being dating Rebecca Humphries, prompting Seann to hit back at the troll.

In addition to describing the birth, the star explained that he never woke up with his daughter once: “[I said] She sleeps through the night, we’re really lucky…then Grace overheard me…she said she was up five times a night.
While the discussions were good-natured, followers were furious with the content and left a slew of angry comments, to which Seann hit back, “Well, it was a big mistake to look at that.” Oops, I was just laughing folks…
“No need to be so personal.” I’m sorry you didn’t like it. It was fun. Damned.’

The conversation then turned to Strictly – a scandal that has plagued Seann’s career – after he was filmed kissing Katya midway through the dance competition, leading to a very public split from Rebecca, who has since written a book on toxic romance .

Speaking up: Echoing the statement, Rob wrote, “I want to remind everyone this is a comedy podcast,” while Josh added, “I want to remind everyone this isn’t Twitter, it’s usually very here nice.”
One angry follower wrote: “What a lot of misogynist gossip wrapped in comedy.” This is my favorite pod. I’ve heard some episodes more than once, but… this episode? No! (Rob and Josh make me cry…
“Worship her before anyone begins. Allow people to provide feedback.)
In a lengthy, bizarre response, the trio ranted, writing, “Everyone here knows this is a comedy podcast so we’re listening and subscribing.” I came here to laugh, and of course I did a few times received as expected…
“Before you berate your audience, could you step back and critically assess why the issue of executed incompetence was raised? One of the first words mentioned is “incapable”…
“You’ve definitely covered or addressed this issue in previous episodes (but without specifically calling it ‘demonstrated incompetence’)…
“The audience emphasizes this aspect, because just laughing at this specific behavior is not what many aspire to …”
“I’m sure many of us have seen partners play the wild card to evade responsibility, whether it be parenting or other chores (usually domestic or subordinate). Could this be why the episode generated such a strong response?
“I think any guest who would have presented themselves in this way would have evoked a similar reaction. Calling listeners unfriendly or hateful is largely inaccurate…
Oh dear… The conversation then turned to Strictly – a scandal that has plagued Seann’s career – after he was filmed kissing Katya in the middle of the dance competition, leading to a very public split from Rebecca (Katya and Seann in Year 2018 shown). )
Pain: Rebecca has since written a book about toxic romance (the couple in 2015)
Shock: A commenter wrote about his Strictly drama
“They both express strong opinions in this pod and give each other regular feedback. Why is that different?…
“Right now yelling at your audience and highlighting your blue ticks in the comments to make sure everyone is squashed with feedback is a bit overkill.” Please remember that you have power, responsibility and a platform to raise issues that really matter discuss. Many people expect you to see what being a father looks like.
“Hopefully your PR team can take this into account and help you provide a thoughtful and respectful response.”
Another reviewer wrote, “Listening to Seann Walsh on the @parenting_hell podcast – is utter male incompetence and ignorance when it comes to parenting still considered ‘funny’?” Sooo many eye rolls.
In defense of the episode, one commenter wrote: “Great episode, Seann is a slob, he’s just him, he spoke so lovingly about the strength and admiration he had for Grace when he was in difficult labor and he had awe and admiration for the midwife and the…” He loves to see the bond of G&W unfold together ✌️xx’
