Rouge et Or star player charged with assault and threats

Laval University Rouge et Or star wide receiver Kevin Mital stands trial on charges of assault, assault and threats.

The 24-year-old star player will plead guilty to a “lesser offence” in Quebec City Court on September 7.

The alleged facts dated September 10, 2021. The information sheet shows that the business administration student committed physical harm by “carrying, using or threatening to use a weapon”. He is also accused of “knowingly threatening death or physical harm”.

Laval University is due to respond to the news today.

The best player in the country

Kevin Mital just had a spectacular sporting fall where he won almost everything. The wide receiver became only the second player in Rouge et Or history to win the Hec-Crighton Trophy, awarded to Canada’s top varsity football player. A few weeks earlier he had also won the title of player par excellence in Quebec.

Mital set several records last season and was just as brilliant in the playoffs. At the Vanier Cup, his skills helped the Rouge et Or to their 11th national title, while the explosive athlete won the title of Most Valuable Player of the Game.

The Rouge et Or training camp is scheduled to start on Friday.
