EastEnders fans are convinced they’ve uncovered the truth about Reiss Colwell’s sinister past after a dark new twist.
After years of unlucky love, Sonia thought she’d finally found her dream man when she met the accountant earlier this year, but viewers were starting to notice cracks in his sweet facade.
Reiss previously told Sonia that his wife was in a coma and living in a nursing home and couldn’t move or communicate, but now fans are becoming suspicious of his story.
At the end of Thursday’s episode, viewers saw Reiss empty his wife’s bank account after he and Sonia decided to have a child through IVF and he insisted he had the means to pay for it.
Reiss previously claimed he was infertile and even accused Sonia of cheating on him when she got pregnant.

Strange: At the end of Thursday’s episode, viewers saw Reiss drain his comatose wife’s bank account after he and Sonia decided to have a child through IVF
Fans are now wondering if Reiss is lying about his wife’s comatose state, and one is even suggesting he could be the soap’s next big villain.
One tweeted: “Reiss draining his comatose wife’s bank account to pay for IVF with Sonia just seems so gross to me.”
A second added: “Robbing from your wife who is in a coma… Damn Reiss.. #eastenders.”
“Reiss is actually a toxic man.” So he dates Sonia, has sex with her while mind you being married to a woman in a coma, then he asks Sonia to go to the hospital and sit with her because he is couldn’t, and now he’s stealing his wife’s money to try and have a child “Sonia #EastEnders,” a third post.
One fan wrote: “Oh no reason to use his wife’s money for a baby with someone else doesn’t say he has a dark side #eastenders.”
“Wouldn’t it be a twist if Reisse’s wife’s brain bleed was somehow caused by Reiss and it wasn’t a stroke and he becomes the next undercover psycho?” one shared.
Viewers will have to wait and see if Reiss is honest with Sonia about his comatose wife.
This comes after soap fans accused Coronation Street of copying EastEnders into OnlyFans with its latest new storyline.

In the new storyline, Ryan Prescott, who plays Ryan Connor in the soap, will unveil the world of online sex work and launch his own account on the adult content sharing site.
The storyline is similar to EastEnders, where Stacey Slater set up her account to solve her money problems.
The mother-of-two, played by Lacey Turner, turned to the raunchy picture-sharing site for extra cash as her food truck wasn’t bringing in enough revenue.
A viewer wrote on social media following Corrie’s new storyline: “The only problem with this is that EastEnders are running literally the same type of storyline with Stacey Slater.”
They continued, “Ok Freddie started selling foot pics at EE which got Stacey on the OnlyFans thing which ended up being stalked by Theo.”
“This Corrie version of this will end up going one way and Ryan will be followed by a ‘fan’ as well.
Meanwhile, Stacey’s OnlyFans drama took a turn for the worse after she found herself in the midst of a stalker scandal.
