Below Deck Mediterranean captain Sandy Yawn has broken her silence on the sexual misconduct scandal on Below Deck Down Under, which saw two crew members fired for crossing lines with their co-stars.
In an Instagram post this week, Sandy, 58, praised Down Under captain Jason Chambers and chief stewardess Aesha Scott for their handling of the incident.
“Respects to Captain Jason and Aesha,” she wrote. “It was a tough but important watch.”
She added, “And kudos to the production for the protective measures.” [the] Crew.’
Shortly after, Aesha took to social media to thank fans of the series for the many positive messages she had received since the episode aired.

She also strongly warned of the danger of becoming vulnerable when drinking.
“We all have to remember to be vigilant when we’re out together.” I know we should always feel safe upfront, but life isn’t always like this, so watch out for your friends and make sure no one goes home alone,” she shared.
“Throughout my years as a sailor, the rule has ALWAYS been that if a female team member wanted to go home and we were all having a drink, a male team member would escort her safely back to the boat, even if it meant a half-hour walk.” for her in every way. “Watch each other’s backs,” she continued.
“I’m also so proud of how many people have spoken out about consent and that women are supporting women, especially all the men out there who have spoken out in support of them.” It shows me that we’re moving into a much more positive world, and I’m very happy about that!!!! Love you all.’

In the latest episode of the reality show, boatswain Luke Jones was fired after he climbed “without consent” into the bed of stewardess Margot Sisson, who was sound asleep in her underwear.
Capt. Jason, 50, addressed fans of the show on Instagram and praised both the production team and Aesha for handling the situation.
“I’ve received a barrage of messages over the past 24 hours from people in similar situations, some of whom have not been so lucky [with] the result, so I’m wholeheartedly with them,” he said.
“I want to thank the production team for breaking the fourth wall and stepping in, then regrouping and allowing Aesha to come to me in an authentic way, and then dealing with it the way we did as Captain and crew would do.”

Jason reported on an incident where crew member Luke Jones crawled naked into bed with an “unconscious” female co-star
Captain Jason also stressed that he doesn’t know what happens between the crew members when they go out together.
“When Aesha brought this to my attention, I addressed it immediately, so it’s real,” he said.
The veteran captain also urged people to “stop hating.”
“Look, this happened over a year ago and I want to reiterate that hopefully the people involved are all on a better path to improve,” he said.
“Less hate, more love, please.” But let’s send it home knowing that’s not acceptable.”
The captain was praised by fans for comforting Aesha, who was distraught after reporting the incident to him
Once he found out what happened, Jason went to Luke’s room and got him off the yacht
He also shared a similar sentiment in the video’s caption, writing, “I sincerely hope that everyone involved will take this time to reflect and take this opportunity to not only make a difference, but to help others.”

Meanwhile, Aesha broke her silence on Wednesday by sharing a selfie of herself with Margot, writing, “Women should always support women and I will always support you.”
Both Jason and Aesha were praised by fans for how they handled the incident.

In “Below Deck in Down Under” this week, Boatswain Luke ran into Margot Sisson’s bedroom during a power outage while she was drunk and “unconscious” in bed
After Luke crawled into her bed, the producers had to step in
Luke jumped out of bed naked and slammed the door in the producers’ faces as they begged him to let them in
After a naked Luke laid himself in Margot’s bed, who fell asleep unconscious after a night of heavy drinking, the producers stepped in and told Luke to leave her alone.
“Can you go away for a second?” he told the cameramen.
“We can’t do that, she said no, she said no,” the producers told him.
When Aesha returned to the hut, she told her friend that Luke had been in her hut and ran out “naked”.
‘Oh dear God. “Ew, he was naked?” Margot replied, to which Aesha asked, “Did you consent to him being in here?”
“No, I was sleeping,” said Margot. “I didn’t invite that at all.”
Aesha then informed Captain Jason, who wanted to know if Sisson was “safe”.
“So is she safe? She’s safe, yes?’ said Captain Jason. “She is safe,” Aesha said.
Aesha tearfully claimed Luke tried to “take advantage of Margot’s drunkenness” while she was “completely unconscious” in bed.
The next morning, Captain Jason sat down with Luke and immediately canceled his contract
Luke said he “accepted” Jason’s decision to fire him, stressing that he doesn’t fully remember what happened the night before
Captain Jason then went to Luke’s room and ordered him to spend the night in a hotel.
The next morning, Jason gathered the remaining crew members and informed them that Luke would be fired.
He also lectured the crew on the importance of consent and boundaries, and emphasized the rules they must follow on board.
