Suzan Mutesi’s claim that she graduated from Australia’s most prestigious drama school appears to be grossly exaggerated.

The 37-year-old influencer has been accused of buying some of her 1.2million followers on Instagram, and earlier this year she was branded a “pest” for “bringing down the logies” and “into the…” at the awards walked the red carpet the wrong way” was Nacht, who has also claimed she “went to NIDA.”

“I don’t call myself an actor, I’m an actor… I was on NIDA,” she told Private Sydney last week, citing the National Institute of Dramatic Art.

However, Mutesi’s name is nowhere to be found in the institute’s alumni database.

The Challenge star didn’t respond when Chron Australia asked him for clarification and comment.

When Private Sydney asked her for details about her studies, she confirmed that she paid for acting classes at summer school.

Although NIDA offers programs for the general public, these are not advanced degree programs.

These programs are offered to anyone over the age of two, require no audition or verification process, and anyone who completes them is not considered an NIDA graduate.

Many universities and creative arts colleges in Australia offer paid short courses to supplement their funding, however these courses are not considered qualifications by government regulators.

NIDA’s Superstar alumni include Mel Gibson, Cate Blanchett and Hugo Weaving, all of whom have earned Diplomas in Dramatic Arts (Acting).

Around 800 aspiring actors apply to the program each year, with an average of just 24 accepted.

NIDA is recognized as one of Australia’s most prestigious performing arts institutes and has a list of all of its famous alumni on its website.

Although Suzan does not have any significant acting roles, she is best known for her appearances on ‘The Challenge’, a reality TV competition that aired on Channel 10 last year.

Suzan’s PR team said her recent controversies have put her on the radar for some exciting TV projects.

After causing a stir at the Logies this year, Suzan’s team announced she is in talks for another TV show to be produced in Australia.

They added: “For Suzan it was Cinderella week where a fairy godmother got her tickets to the Logies AND she was flown in a beautiful outfit. When she arrived, she walked the red carpet and her photo garnered worldwide attention.”

“Finally all the ugly sisters are jealous of their success!”

The application deadline for next year’s BFA (Acting) admission to NIDA is September 18, 2023, 5:00 p.m. (AEST).
