Cigale Festival: even more beautiful and bigger

The number of passes sold for the second edition of the Cigale Festival has increased fivefold compared to the 2022 edition, but the organizers have done everything possible to maintain the relaxed Australian-California atmosphere that so appeals to festival-goers.

“We’re really excited about the excitement for the festival, but most of all we wanted to keep our DNA relaxed and not end up with a crowded site,” explains Gabriel Fontaine-Leclerc, Managing Director of Gestev, the company behind the celebrations.

The Cigale Festival takes place on August 12th and 13th in the Baie de Beauport.

It is therefore a larger and better equipped playground on offer to festival-goers this year.

Strolling around the 500,000 square meter site, festival-goers can take advantage of DELIRE Parc for a short climbing session before having a chance to cool off in Beauport Bay, where the two stages are set up and 16 performances will take place during the event.

These stages were also installed side by side, unlike last year, to save spectators who don’t want to miss any of the shows a lot of stairs.

Australia in Beauport

Of the 16 groups and artists invited to perform on Beauport Bay Beach, three are from Australia. Indie-folk duo Hollow Coves and pop singer Ziggy Alberts will take the stage early Saturday night, followed by Hein Cooper the next day to work his magic.

Kim Churchill, a ghost from the last edition, will even be among the festival-goers this year. The folk-country singer, who has already toured Canada with Ziggy Alberts, was enjoying his 2022 guest artist experience so much that he wanted to be a part of the audience at this edition.

However, don’t be surprised if he takes his place next to his stage mate during the performance of this play.

A royal feast

Gone seems to be the time when festival-goers’ diet consisted of bags of crisps and steamed hot dogs. The 20,000 “Cigaliers” who have been granted access to the event, which will take place on August 12th and 13th in Beauport Bay, will be entitled to a range of food that is three times more varied than the first edition.

On the menu; Sushi, oyster bar, burrata bar, vegan snacks and a variety of desserts of all kinds. Old-school fans will also get their money’s worth, because food trucks are parked on site.
