A supermarket in Austria has been closed since last Tuesday after the discovery of a poisonous Brazilian wandering spider that can cause long, painful erections.
That’s what TMZ reported about the Penny store, which is based in Krems an der Donau, 45 minutes west of Vienna. It was the supermarket manager who spotted the four-centimeter insect in the bananas before calling the fire department.
According to Live Science, the spider’s venom “stimulates” an erection that lasts for hours. Bite victims can suffer from high blood pressure and pain throughout the body.

In 2012, Smithsonian Magazine suggested that the spider might next work Viagra to help men with erectile dysfunction.
