The Aragonese can, from this Friday, give a face to the members of the first coalition government of PP and Vox in the history of the community, the result of the agreement between Popular and Ultras, which includes 80 measures. The autonomous government’s new president, the popular Jorge Azcón, has sought territorial balance by appointing Teruel and Huesca as heads of department, the two least populated provinces in Aragón, which in several cases are also old acquaintances in regional politics . This Friday he signed the nominating decrees for the ten directors who will take office this Saturday morning.

Vox will be represented by the party leader in the municipality, Alejandro Nolasco, who will be the first vice president of the region and will also hold the portfolio of Territorial Development, Depopulation and Justice, and for the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food by the cooperative agriculturist Angel Samper . The PP remains with the remaining ministries and second vice-presidency linked to the associated Department of Business, Employment and Industry and the Executive Branch Spokesman.

The new first vice-president of Aragon was born in Pamplona in 1991 but is based in Teruel. He is a lawyer and has practiced at his law firm in the city for more than six years, according to his profile on the official Vox website. He studied Law at the Complutense University of Madrid and Philosophy at UNED and is currently doing his PhD in History at the University of San Pablo CEU. Nolasco joined Vox in January 2019 and was elected provincial president of the far-right party a year later. Before becoming a Member of Parliament, he was a Vox councilor on Teruel City Council. He has combined his work as a lawyer with participation in television shows, and most importantly with writing: he is the author of nine books, which he offers for sale on his personal page, including “The Story of a Mediocre Psychopath”, a review of “The today’s society and a descent into the most primal and deepest entrails of man,” says the summary of the book “Sponges of Blood” or “And I will go”.

Ángel Samper (Zaragoza, 63 years old), an experienced farmer and member of the cooperative, will become the new Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, the other portfolio being in the hands of Vox. Samper has been associated with the agricultural association ASAJA for years. In 2007 he was appointed Secretary General of Huesca and in 2012 of all Aragon. On the organization’s website, Samper, founder of an agricultural cooperative, has published articles critical of the progressive government’s agenda and opposed to environmental statements. Speaking about those responsible for the draft law on the protection and rights of animals, Samper said that “they teach that to understand and love animals you have to become one of them” and reiterated that they “cannot be legal subjects”. , an idea he touched on in another text, in which he wondered: “Will they be legally able to turn animals into humans and humans into animals?” and presented the concept of “empty Spain” to the against what he defines as a “corrupt Spain” subject to the ideological framework imposed by “very powerful lobbies”. In another of his texts, Samper speaks of an “attack” directed against the rural environment and its “customs, culture, history and roots”, one idea that ends in another in which he mixes and caricatures environmental claims. “No to the climate in which we breathe! (…) Don’t burn the bushes! Don’t store the water! Don’t light the windows! Don’t turn on the light! No to meat! No to cow farts!” He also deplores the hoax propagated by Vox, which he describes as “demolishing reservoirs” and which are actually disused dams and other barriers removed from river currents.

However, the powers of the environmental agency fall to another council, in this case the PP, which will also deal with tourism and will be headed by Manuel Blasco, a ceramics entrepreneur born in Teruel in 1960 and well known in the least populated of the three regions Aragonese capitals because he was city councillor, deputy mayor and finally mayor twice, from 1999 to 2003 and from 2010 to 2016. Blasco has also been present in national politics: from 2004 to 2016 he was a senator when he was elected deputy mayor , and from new from 2019 until his resignation to be invested as a director. The Aragonese Institute of Environmental Management (Inaga) and the Aragonese Water Institute (IAA) will depend on his department. Environmental permits depend on the former, reports the Heraldo newspaper, which indicates that he will head a commission of inquiry into the permits for new plants, to which the new Aragonese president alluded sharply in his inaugural speech.
