On the latest episode of their Twin Talk podcast, Haley and Hanna Cavinder said their decision to leave the world of women’s collegiate basketball wasn’t easy.
The 22-year-old twin sisters were at odds over whether or not to return to the University of Miami after helping the Hurricanes reach the Elite Eight for the first time in history.
However, after this success, it seemed that the girls did not agree on what to do in the future.
“We got into an argument, if you really want to know, and I was like, ‘Hanna, I’m going back,’ and she was like, ‘I’m not going back, I don’t do it anymore,'” Haley said.
“We made it to the Elite 8, that was Hanna and I’s goal.” Hanna didn’t want to play, so she made me quit basketball.”

As for why she wanted to leave the women’s college basketball world — and the twins’ lucrative NIL deal — Hanna said the negative attention they were receiving put her off.
“Because of the two point comments that are left in the two minutes, I was done,” she said.
“Besides, when you’re a college athlete, you miss so much of your family and life,” Haley continued. “…We just wanted to play for four years and we’ve always dreamed of starting our business and starting a business and going down that path — so whatever people have to say, whatever they have to say, it was fine , do what you want to do.’
Hanna added that burnout affected her game and personal life.
“I’m not going to do anything that I’m not going to do 100 percent.” “If I decided to go back, it wouldn’t be right, I wouldn’t be entirely happy with who I am.”
Haley said it took about a month to make her final decision — while Hanna was determined to make sure they stopped playing basketball.
“The deciding factor was that I’ve done so many ‘hot girl walks’ and I thought someone would make that decision for me because it worries me so much.”

But Hanna fought back, convincing her sister to drop out of the college ranks
Today, the Cavinder’s still create tons of content and keep their lives busy and active – including through WWE.
But they still got plenty of comments from people saying they should have stayed in Miami.
“Everyone will say, ‘Oh my god, you should have done your fifth year,’ but when we played basketball, you hated us.”
“You can’t please anyone and the opinions of others – we will never rely on that in making a decision.”
