Jaime King’s divorce has taken a new turn after her estranged husband, Kyle Newman, expressed concern that she might try to ‘kidnap’ their two children.
Legal documents obtained by The Blast say Newman, 47, is trying to stop 44-year-old Jaime from going on holiday to Vietnam with their sons James, 9, and Leo, 7.
The filmmaker said in a court filing, “I cannot agree that Jaime is taking our children on holiday to Vietnam after school starts – Vietnam is not a country that is a signatory to the Hague Convention on Child Abduction.”
The agreement aims to “protect children from the harmful effects of international abduction by a parent by promoting the prompt return of abducted children to their country of habitual residence and by organizing or securing effective rights of contact with a child,” it said in the newspaper .
In layman’s terms, the treaty states that if a parent takes the children to another country, that country’s government will assist in their return.

Jaime wants to take the boys with him on the trip in the next few days.

“Jaime has been dishonest with me from the start about her intention to travel to Vietnam with our children and I don’t agree with that.”
Another shocking allegation detailed in the new court filing says King violated the current custody order because she was “intoxicated” around James and Leo.
According to Newman, “Jaime has repeatedly and blatantly violated several court orders, including custody orders (and prevented her from being intoxicated while the children were in her care by repeatedly testing her with SoberLink to see if she was intoxicated, even in the morning when she had custody). Children).’
SoberLink is an alcohol monitoring system that combines a breathalyzer with wireless connectivity and technology like facial recognition.
As for Jaime, she previously revealed that she “suffered years of physical, emotional, verbal, and financial abuse,” which led her to end the marriage.

The Blast reported that the judge sided with Newman in the ongoing divorce case and denied King’s request to travel to Vietnam.
Last fall, Newman claimed he could not afford to live because the actress failed to pay him court-ordered money.
The Hart Of Dixie actress was ordered by a court in April to pay her ex $1,000 a month in spousal support and $429 a month in child support, but the director of Barely Lethal filed legal documents in which he claimed that she had paid nothing.
The case has been pending for more than three years and an upcoming trial is scheduled for September 19, 2023.
