Rybakina and Kasatkina, respectively third and tenth in the Montreal tournament, completed their quarterfinals early Saturday morning at 2:54 am in front of several hundred adoring spectators.

The fight lasted 3 hours and 27 minutes, with Rybakina winning 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 (8) after going behind.

In 2019 in Toronto, Bianca Andreescu defeated Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands in 3 hours and 28 minutes.

The longest game of the Canadian Open also took place in Queen City last year, when Spain’s Sara Sorribes Tormo defeated America’s Claire Liu in 3 hours and 33 minutes.

The playing time has been collected by the WTA since 2008.

Additionally, it’s a safe bet that the clash between Rybakina and Kasatkina will be the last in the history of the Montreal event. However, no statistics are kept in the archives on this subject.
