As the Moss sisters bicker over how to make money

As the Moss sisters bicker over how to make money from OnlyFans, get facial tattoos and start a soft porn modeling agency, ALISON BOSHOFF reveals the family pinnacle that is driving Kate and Lottie Moss further apart than ever

Three months ago, the Moss family met at a pub in Notting Hill, west London.

Organized by Nick, Kate Moss’ younger brother, it offered Kate a rare opportunity to get together with her wayward half-sister Lottie – along with Peter, her father and his second wife Inger.

It was hoped that model Kate, 49, who has been on the cover of Vogue more than 40 times, would quietly forgive 25-year-old Lottie, who makes her living stripping for salacious snaps on cheesy website OnlyFans.

You may be wondering what tattooed Lottie needs to be forgiven for. Those in Kate’s camp say the problem is her habit of aiming at her half-sister every time she talks, although her career direction is also a factor.

Unfortunately, neither woman felt warmer to the other. And Kate was apparently particularly horrified to see Lottie’s most recent face tattoo – the word ‘Lover’ under her eye.

A friend says, “She knows how valuable your face is as a model.” It was the final straw that broke the camel’s back. She loves them like a sister, but they have nothing to do with each other.’

Another source close to Kate says she believes Lottie’s career path has “cheaped” the Moss brand — she’s been “modeling” for adult subscription sites since 2021.

Kate is keen to protect the Moss name as she directs the career of her 20-year-old daughter Lila, who appears as Lila Moss and not Lila Hack (her surname from father Jefferson).

Lila is part of a select group of 20 represented by Kate’s own Kate Moss Agency, which started in 2016.

Lila now lives in New York and used to work for her mother’s good friend, the designer Marc Jacobs.

“Kate is worried about her name. “Her legacy is in her career, but also in Lilas,” says a source. “The Moss name is precious. She believes making money and being successful is an important factor.

“Kate doesn’t like being professionally associated with Lottie.” “There was a time when she had the idea that Lottie should use her mother’s maiden name instead of Lottie Moss,” the source said.

One can only imagine how unwanted that would have made Lottie.

But the truth is, despite sharing a father, their childhoods never coincided – and the age gap between them is huge.

Lottie grew up in Haywards Heath, West Sussex with her father, a travel agent, Peter Moss, and her Norwegian mother, Inger Solnordal, his second wife. She attended fee-paying Bede’s School in Hailsham.

Meanwhile, Kate and her brother Nick grew up far away in Sanderstead, Croydon. Her mother, Peter’s first wife Linda, worked as a barmaid and Kate had Saturday jobs at the shop, hanging out in the park and drinking cider. The school was the local comprehensive school, Riddlesdown High School.

She was discovered at the age of 14 by Sarah Doukas, head of model agency Storm, at JFK Airport in New York; A shoot for The Face at the age of 16 was the start of her career.

Both women have rebellious attitudes, but while Kate is considered the epitome of cool, Lottie seems lost in her rebellions.

Take the question of their numbers.

Kate, flat-chested, sagging teeth and 1.70m short for the catwalk, was a world away from supermodel perfection yet netted a fortune of £40million.

5’7″ Lottie underwent surgery as a teenager to give her the breasts she so desperately wanted and has lip fillers added to her pretty face.

Lottie said on a podcast this year, “I knew Kate was famous – I adored her when I was little.” However, I never got much love or attention from her, which upset me. How do I tell people I don’t know them and they won’t reply to my texts?

That was not always so. Finally, Kate invited her 13-year-old half-sister to be a bridesmaid at her wedding to Jamie Hince in 2011. Shortly thereafter, Lottie signed with Storm, Kate’s modeling agency at the time.

Lottie crowed – somewhat tactlessly – that her mother Inger had told her that on their wedding day no one had looked at Kate, but that instead they had marveled at Lottie’s beauty.

Although Lottie initially booked jobs at Bulgari and Valentino, these soon disappeared and her career went downhill. Since then, she and Kate have hardly been seen together.

Just before the pandemic, she traveled to California and said she was turning her back on haute couture and its “toxic” people. However, she spent some time in lockdown with Kate in the Cotswolds but then moved on and left wine in the fridge in what was interpreted as a pointed comment on Kate’s sobriety.

For her part, Kate regretted Lottie’s heavy drinking and her habit of making suggestive posts on social media.

Lottie then signed up for OnlyFans and was dropped by Storm. This week Lottie did a commercial to promote her appearance on the E4 show ‘Celebs Go Dating’ which airs tomorrow from 9pm.

In interviews, she continued to throw digs at her older half-sibling, apparently alluding to Kate’s own struggles with substance abuse: “My sister obviously struggles with things of her own.” She’s allowed to have that.

“She doesn’t have to want to be in a relationship with me.” When I was younger, I couldn’t understand it. I thought, “Why doesn’t someone in my family want a relationship with me?” I don’t understand.

“But now I’ve learned to talk to other friends. . . This family is complicated. Just because she’s a real high-end model doesn’t mean it’s any different in our family. We just don’t agree on a lot of things. I love her. She’s my sister, but we’re just not close. It is what it is.’

Friends of Kate’s can’t dispute that, but wish Lottie would just stop talking about her: “Kate has kept her mystique and only given a handful of interviews.” But Lottie seems to treat her like free therapy and says so First thing that comes to mind.”

Lottie certainly made headlines recently when she commented on rumors that she was dating married Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews.

“That’s not true,” she replied. “Spencer is a great guy. We celebrated, but that’s all it was!’

She also added that she has been in contact with Kate’s daughter Lila, which Kate’s friends deny.

“Apart from family reunions, they have very little to do with each other,” says one.

Other factors also play a role. Lottie entered rehab in Arizona in 2021 and said on social media that she had a “severe coke addiction.” She now believes her struggles were actually a result of undiagnosed ADHD and said this week, “I’m in a very happy place in my life right now and for the first time in a long time I’m very true to myself.”

This face tattoo, which she got while drunk in Bali last year, was an expression of her newfound sense of freedom, she says, but she tends to cover it up with makeup.

Kate, of course, had her own alleged problems. Last November, she suddenly disappeared from view to recharge her batteries – coinciding with the separation from her longtime boyfriend, Count Nikolai von Bismarck.

A friend of Kate’s says she has to be “very careful” and “on guard” to stay sober. “She’s aware that she can’t be around people who drink heavily or are on drugs.”

Lottie now plans to emulate her sister’s modeling agency by starting her own – from OnlyFans-Models.

She said, “I have the right level of knowledge and expertise to help girls with stuff online.” As an agency, we manage their accounts. And I’ll make sure they get the money they deserve.”

She added, “I want to make sure the girls are looked after.”

Who, one wonders, takes care of Lottie?
