Patrick Roy confirms he’s had some interviews this summer about returning to the National Hockey League.
The former Remparts de Québec head coach confirmed the information on the microphone of 98.5 during the program Les Amateurs de Sports.
“I received calls and did interviews with certain teams. Overall, things went well,” Roy said.
The new retiree explains that the recruitment process is overflowing with good candidates and that there is competition between coaches for the few positions available.
At Serge Savard’s golf tournament on Tuesday, Roy said he would be alert if a club ever contacted him.
“Obviously we’re going to listen when the phone rings, but right now they have guys doing a great job,” he said of the Ottawa Senators, a team whose name has been rumored to have circulated.
