Spotify bounces back as Discord comes back online after crash

Spotify and Discord don’t seem to work.

TechCrunchers and Twittersphere are having trouble signing into Spotify. People have been reporting on Twitter that opening the Spotify app on a mobile device results in a login process, but even the correct username and password result in a failed login attempt.

The music streaming company confirmed the issue on Twitter:

Discord has confirmed that it is also experiencing an issue affecting the delivery/reception of messages.

We have reached out to Spotify and Discord to learn more about this issue and will let you know when we get a response.

We are aware of this issue and have posted an update to @SpotifyStatus. We will post another update when everything is back to normal.

One more update: At 2:39 pm ET, about an hour after Spotify began receiving reports that Spotify was down, @SpotifyStatus said everything seemed to be working again.

One more update: Spotify has explicitly told TechCrunch that they are still investigating the root cause of the issue, but they have no reason to believe it was caused by a malicious hacker.
