AFL star Dane Swan buys classic historic pub on Melbourne’s trendy Chapel Street: ‘I love socializing and having a pint’
Badass AFL star Dane Swan has bought a gorgeous pub on Melbourne’s hip Chapel Street.
The 39-year-old former Collingwood player is now a part owner of the historic Union Hotel.
Originally built in 1856, this charming hotel is located in Windsor’s trendy South Yarra area.
The well-kept restaurant has two fireplaces and a beer garden.
According to the Herald Sun, Swan plans to redesign The Union and expand operations.

This is the third time in recent years that the football champ has entered hotel real estate as an investor.
Swan already has interests in The Albion Hotel in South Melbourne and The Osbourne in South Yarra.
His partners in the new company are Gabriel Jakobson and Simon Lennox, owners of The Osbourne.
The former Footy “bad boy” told the publication about his passion for the pub scene.
“I’m not good at anything else, I love being around people and having a beer,” he said.
“When I was playing football, I was out and about a bit. It’s not about what you know, it’s about who you know. I’ve made great friends from going out and now I work with them.”

This comes after Swan and longtime girlfriend Taylor Wilson gave birth to twin daughters last year.
The 2011 Brownlow medalist and his partner are already parents to two-year-old son Tait and gave birth to Sage and Scout in December.
The soccer star and his girlfriend welcomed Tait in February 2021.
The pair began dating in 2010 but have been known to keep a low profile than some AFL couples.
