The drama Lare my mother’s menDirector Anik Jean’s “The Movie” just a few days ago became the second Quebec film to break the $1 million mark at the box office this summer. And he managed to cross this symbolic threshold in just two weeks.
It was Anik Jean herself who announced the good news on social media, sharing a video on Saturday in which she and her husband Patrick Huard (who stars in the film) thanked the audience for being there.

“It’s really extraordinary,” added Patrick Huard. I’m always fascinated [de voir] How much so when stories are told with you in mind, whatever the style of the story, you’re there, you’re coming to see it. What we’re trying to do is provide quality stories for you, and you clearly respond to that. That touches me so much. It still fascinates me even after 34 years.”
